1- The theme was "Arcade", I chose to draw Haohmaru, a character from a video game named "Samurai Shodown" that I played when was a boy.

Hoy me topé con una grata sorpresa:

Hace alrededor de un año, tuve el agrado de trabajar en una ilustración de tapa para una banda metalera argentina (para ser más preciso santafesina) que viene sonando bastante fuerte: Ramset.

Ya me había olvidado del asunto, pero hoy, al abrir mi mail, me encontré con que próximamente se estará presentando el CD, que seguramente va a sonar increíble!

This is another thing I am working on: a book for pree teens for Alzabane Editions (France). It is about the experiences of a friendly cat named Ulysses, who accidentally embarks in a journey through ancient Greece, aboard a fishing boat that is lost in the ocean. Beside the capitan Archéas and his tripulation, he must face many obstacles and fantastic creatures (that are fun to draw!).
Some of the designs of the sailors should be adapted to the style of the book, because i got carried away for the realism.

Esto es otra cosa en la que estoy trabajando: un libro para pre adolescentes de Alzabane Editions (Francia). Se trata de las vivencias de un simpático gato llamado Ulises, quien emprende accidentalmente un viaje por la Grecia antigua, a bordo de un barco de pescadores. El felino tendrá que enfrentar numerosos obstaculos y criaturas fantásticas (buenísimas para dibujar!) Junto al capitán Archéas y sus hombres.
Algnos de los diseños de los marineros los tendré que adaptar al estilo del libro porque me entusiasme un poco con el realismo.

These Days I am working with Sol90 publisher for a collection called "Great Enigmas of History", wich will probably be posted on the otside with the seal of National Geographic.

This picture in particullar is about the batlle between Jerusalem (lead by King Baldwin IV) and the Muslim army of Saladin. If you remember, in the movie "Kingdom of Heaven", there is a moment when the dying Baldwin reminds her sister this great victory of his adolescence.

Por estos días estoy trabajando con la editorial Sol90 para una colección llamada "Grandes Enigmas de la historia" la cual, probablemente, se publique en el exterior con el sello de Ntional Geographic".

Esta ilustración en particular es sobre la batalla entre Jerusalén (al mando del rey Balduino IV) y el ejercito musulmán de Saladino. Si se acuerdan de la película "Cruzada", en un momento el agonizante Balduino le recuerda a su hermana esta gran victoria de su adolescencia.

I startede this Knight in Photoshop, and I realized I had not done any Gawain illustration yet (some time ago I post the green Knight, wich appears in the same poem), so by the time I started working in painter had already given his name.

Esta vez hecha 100% en photoshop, y luchando un poco con un monitor nuevo lcd, que si bien es una masa para mirar una peli o jugar, es un poco complicado para pintar (por eso de que te cambia el contraste segun de donde lo miras). Igual quede contento con el resultado, y los editores también, que es importante.

This time made 100% in photoshop, and struggling a bit with a new monitor lcd, while it is great to watch a movie or play, but is a bit complicated for paint (because the contrast change depending on where you look). Anyway, Im happy with the result, and also the publishers, which is important.

Estuve viendo algunos videos del Final Fantasy Crisis Core y me volvieron las ganas de jugar estos juegos que hace tiempo me inspiraron tanto para dibujar, así que para hacerle honor al personaje lo boceté en mi sketch pensando que iba a quedar ahí, pero no pude evitar pintarlo en Photoshop.
También me gustaría hacer un Squall, cuando tenga un poco de tiempo.

I was watching some videos of Final Fantasy Crisis Core and I came back wanting to play these games that inspired me so long to draw, so to do honor to the character I draw this in my sketch, but I could not avoid to paint it in photoshop.

Con el curso de anatomía de animales que estoy haciendo con Abril Barrado (una gran dibujante y excelente profesora) fuimos a dibujar caballos del vivo a una isla en el Tigre. Este trabajo lo comencé ahí y lo terminé en casa. Fue une muy linda experiencia, aprendimos un montón y nos divertimos todavía más.

Hace unos meses le regalé el arte de tapa a una amiga, Josefa Pino, quien con tan solo 84 años (wow!) publicó su primer libro, que lleva el título del post. Fue divertido, no había ninguna idea previa ni sugerencias, así que solamente estuve jugando con el Painter y el Photoshp por un rato.

A few months ago I made this cover art for a friend: Josefa Pino, who with only 84 years old (Wow!) published his first book. It was fun because there was no previous idea or suggestion, so I was just playing with the Painter and Photoshop for a while.

No tenía una idea de lo que iba a hacer, solo superpuse varias texturas y a partir de las formas que se generaron encontré la figura del robot. Me divierten bastante estos trabajos en que uno no se ata a nada, sino que se deja llevar por lo que siente.

Otro de los trabajos para “1xsemana”, la consigna era hacer un robot de los años 20.
El haz de luz que sale del pecho simboliza las metas, y el robot, a pesar de estar desintegrandose, vuela raudo hacia ellas. De ahí la frase “enfrenta tu destino”
(La escribí en ingles porque me parece que funciona mejor con la estética Art Decó).

Con unos amigos del estudio en el que trabajo actualmente nos propusimos este ejercicio que se viene haciendo ya en tantos foros: elegir un concepto, una idea o un personaje por semana, ilustrarlo y evaluar el resultado entre todos.En este caso el tema fue diseñar nuestra version de Quetzalcóatl (serpiente emplumada) uno de los dioses principales de las culturas mesoamericanas.Lapiz, PhotoShop y Painter.

Una diosa que más bien es un espíritu engreído. Diseño hecho para un proyecto personal. El lápiz esta hecho hace más o menos 2 años. Color en Photoshop CS2.

Protegiendo el templo

Empezo como un simple dibujo de la chica sosteniendo un tachi (una espada antigua japonesa, anterior al katana, pero un poco mas larga) después se me ocurrio obviar la vaina y agregar esos demonios a su alrededor, por lo que tal vez la pose quedo un poco dura. Y la idea del titulo me vino despues, “el templo” que protege no se ve porque en realidad es ella misma.
El color es photoshop.

Lápiz sobre papel y Photoshop (grises). Es un diseño de personaje que realice en el 2005 para un proyecto personal, posteriormente decidí sacarlo de la historia, aunque el dibujo me sigue gustando. Próximamente voy a subir la versión pintada.
